Find out more about our excavations and come and meet the team at the Wintringham Heritage Day!

This Saturday 15th October 2022, join us at Wintringham Primary Academy between 11 am and 3 pm for a heritage open day. In partnership with Urban and Civic, we will be presenting the latest findings from the largest excavation area of Iron Age and Roman settlements at Wintringham that we’ve been exploring through this blog.

There will be a chance to hear an update on the archaeological excavations from the team who have been working on site in 2022, with talks on our discoveries being held at 12 pm and 2 pm. We will be bringing finds which have not yet been displayed to the public, including an early bronze age flint knife and pottery found still within a Roman kiln.

For budding archaeologists, there will be hands-on family activities including pottery-making, mosaic designs and an indoor ‘dig pit’.

We look forward to seeing you there!
